New Delhi – Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has passed away at the age of 92 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. The announcement came on Thursday, revealing that Singh had been receiving treatment for age-related medical conditions and experienced a sudden loss of consciousness at his residence. Despite the medical team’s efforts, he could not be revived and was declared dead at 9:51 PM.
Manmohan Singh served as Prime Minister for two consecutive terms from 2004 to 2014 during the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. In recent months, he had been in declining health.
Current Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Singh, referring to him as one of the “most distinguished leaders” in Indian politics. Modi highlighted Singh’s insightful contributions in Parliament and acknowledged his extensive efforts to enhance the lives of the Indian populace.
