Up to 6.76 Million People Could Be Affected by Venezuela Earthquakes, according to IOM

Geneva/Caracas, 27 June 2026 – Up to 6.76 million people could be affected by the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on 24th June, according to initial estimates by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The projections, based on the available population and damage analysis, include up to 2 million people in Caracas alone and highlight the potentially vast humanitarian impact of the disaster as assessments continue.
